2015-11-28 Sat

Nestled in the Himalayas, Bhutan is known for issuing unique, quirky, and exotic stamps. One such set issued on April 15, 1973 consists of five postage and two airmail phonograph record stamps. These stamps don’t just depict phonographs; but they are actual phonographs which can be played on any standard record player. The recordings include folk songs, the royal national anthem, and Bhutanese history. The mint never-hinged set of seven is valued at $400 while the mint set of seven sells for $300.
